Ahmedabad Book Festival to Showcase 340 Stalls and International Authors
Join the Ahmedabad International Book Festival 2024 at Sabarmati Riverfront, featuring 340 stalls, 100+ sessions, and global authors, from Nov 30 to Dec 8.on Nov 29, 2024
The first Ahmedabad International Book Festival is set to commence on Saturday at the Sabarmati Riverfront Event Centre. Organized by the National Book Trust (NBT), India, under the Union Ministry of Education, in collaboration with the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC), the nine-day event will run until December 8.
According to Ahmedabad Mayor Pratibhaben Jain, the festival builds on the success of the World Book Fair 2024 and Gujarat’s Vanche Gujarat campaign to inspire a love for reading among youth and elders alike. Spread across 325,000 square feet, the event will host 340 stalls by 147 exhibitors from 13 Indian states, establishing it as one of India’s largest book festivals.
NBT Public Relations Head Amit Kumar Singh stated that this collaboration with AMC elevates the fair to an “international scale,” offering a diverse range of literary attractions. The festival will feature more than 100 literary sessions across six dedicated stages, including Pragya Shivir (Children’s Pavilion), Shabd Samsara (Authors’ Corner), Gyaan Ganga (Literary Stage for Creative Workshops), Culinary Literature Stage (Rasoi aur Kitaab), Rangmanch (Cultural Stage), and Abhiklap (Design+)and Children Film Festival.
Prominent speakers include Padma Shri awardees Raghuveer Chaudhary, Kumar Pal Desai, and William Dalrymple, along with international authors from Spain, Sri Lanka, Poland, Denmark, and more. The event promises an enriching experience, blending literature, art, and culture under one roof.
